Motorcycle Helmets

Here at Moto Superstore, we believe that the most important piece of equipment that a motorcycle rider will need is of course; a motorcycle helmet. Specifically for the use on motorbikes and motocross bikes these helmets are made for those riding a motorcycle on the track, the road or off-road. If an impact was to occur, the helmet’s primary objective is to reduce or stop the amount of damage that could be otherwise sustained to the rider’s head, neck and face. There have been numerous scientific tests that have proven that motorcycle helmets can reduce the risk of injury by up to 69% and cut the risk of potential death by 42%. Their use in the United Kingdom like many other countries is mandatory and a legal requirement, we have many different approvals including ACU Gold and SHARP but it is ECE22.05 and ECE22.06 that are the most universally recognised for safety.

Nowadays, almost all motorbike helmets are manufactured using polystyrene foam insert that reduces the shock impact to the rider’s head and then an external shell that can be manufactured from plastic, polycarbonate, fibreglass, or carbon fibre -here at Moto Superstore, we firmly believe that offering our customers a wide range of choice from all these different constructions is a necessity. There are many different variations of motorcycle helmets including full face helmets, open face helmets and flip up helmets – with the main variation being the way that the helmet is designed to protect the riders face and chin. Many helmets now also included other extras and additions including drop down sun visors, built in intercom systems and removable chin pieces.
